Meet the Team Behind A-Town
Behind every practice, competition, celebration, and new opportunity at Aurora (A-Town) Special Olympics is a group of people who believe deeply in our athletes and the community we are building together.
Our Program Coordinators help lead the day-to-day operations of A-Town—from organizing sports and supporting coaches to communicating with families, planning events, and finding new opportunities for our athletes. But A-Town isn’t led by just one or two people. We believe the voices of the people who make up our community should help shape its future.
That’s where our A-Town Advisory Board comes in.
Our Advisory Board is made up of athletes, parents, caregivers, coaches, Unified Partners, and community members who each bring a different perspective to the table. Together with our Program Coordinators, our Board Directors help guide the direction of A-Town, discuss the needs of our athletes and families, develop new ideas, and make decisions that help our program continue to grow.
Most importantly, our athletes have a voice in that process. We believe decisions about our A-Town community should include the people at the very heart of it—our athletes.
Each person serving A-Town brings their own experiences, talents, ideas, and passion, but we all share one goal: creating a community where athletes of all ages and abilities have opportunities to participate, compete, build friendships, develop confidence, and know that they belong.
